Elystan Village, SW3
This is a small enclave, much of it built in the 1950s and 60s and situated in the heart of the Chelsea conservation area. As it is handily between the Kings Road and Chelsea Gardens, properties in Elystan Place would suit busy people who want easy, comfortable living with all facilities at hand. Crown Lodge, for instance, is a purpose-built apartment block with an underground swimming pool and gym complex – so by living here you don’t even have to fork out for a gym membership at a local fitness club.
Many of the properties have been refurbished and have lost their old-fashioned 1960s look to provide contemporary living. There is a choice of apartments and also 2,3 or 4-bedroom town houses. Many of the apartments have views over Chelsea Gardens, giving a "rus in urbe" feel to the area.
Because this is a quiet residential area, it would suit a family as well as young (or older!) professionals and singles. Kings Road and Sloane Square are only minutes away, yet the area is hidden away, tranquil and safe.
Transport
Tubes: Nearest underground Sloane Square, on the District and Circle Line, otherwise South Kensington or Knightsbridge are reasonably to hand for the Picadilly line too.
Buses: Many routes around Sloane Square and down the Kings Road
Resident Parking Permit: Yes
Congestion Zone: Yes
